Julie and Julia

Earlier today I watched, with my spontaneous older sister, Julie and Julia at Santa Cruz.
IF you guys haven't seen the movie or read the novel (based on true story FYI), go see it or read it.

Anyway, you're probably thinking what does that movie have anything to do with blogging...well, the reason I started this blog was because of that movie.

For those of you that is curious about the synopsis, here's a peek (but for those who'd rather watch it or read w/o any idea of the plot...i recommend you don't read this) :
Julia Childs, a charming yet witty married woman, moves to Europe (Versaille to be exact) with her husband due to his work. Because she doesn't do much and is sort of "lost" except going wherever her husband goes, she comes up with an idea to make use of herself by taking cooking lessons. From there, her adventure begins. As for Julie (who's living in the present 2002), she admires and loves all of Juila's work. Julie decides to be like Julia and as of concluding, it's that part of the story when Julie's life turns 180deg.

ok so that was probably the longest summary/synopsis. I suck at writing yet I still do it. It's the only way to improve right?

Basically what I'm saying is....go watch the movie if you haven't. You won't be disappointed i promise you.

Let me state my thesis or i guess, "purpose" for opening a blog.
Referring back to the movie, Julie opens up a blog and manuscripts everything that she's doing to accomplish a goal she has set. She creates a deadline for herself and shares with the rest of the world her each experiences, emotions, and many.

Well, I'm going to be doing that so I can accomplish...finish what I start.
(this first post is going to be longer than i thought). Here it goes:
I'm a 3rd year in college and I've finally decided what I want to do with my life. But the thing is...I've said that many times...okay prior to the final decision, I've said it 2 times. I just hope this decision is the last. NO. It better be. I don't have a choice.
I've made up my mind and now it's the physical part that's going to either keep me going or slow me down. however....i will not let those stop me because every road has a bump.

This blog will help me keep this goal. I have many other goals but let's take it "one step at a time".
So as of now, I'm pretty psyched about this goal and am ready to face any challenges. I will get out of my comfort zone. I will become what I appreciate the most. I will not let others drag me or pull me down.

To end this first note....Good Night and "BON APPETITE!" (lol. you gotta watch the movie)

Greetings to all. This weekend went by quicker than I had imagined. Let's see..what did I do?? Saturday was a walk in the park...literally. haha I was home till 2 or 3pm. Then I thought to myself, "Dang, I need to walk or exercise rather than sit my lazy butt here in my room." SO I did. Last time I went out for a walk, I went in a direction opposite of where I would go (towards the bus stop). I found a soccer field with a cafe. Dreams

We all have them. and most of the time, we want it to come true. we want it to become real. But how can we if we don't do anything about it? To be realistic, the term we should really focus on is GOALS. The terms dream and goal intertwine with each other or sometimes used separately depending on the context. Goals are achievable. Goals help us to think realistically. Goals are dreams with a deadline! I'm not saying it's childish to dream but it's childish when you don't set a limit for yourself. When you're a child, you dream of becoming a doctor, an engineer, a professional athlete, etc... and when you're old enough, you can and should turn those dreams into goals. Only then, it will become real. So what's your dream? And will you do something about it to turn it into a goal so that eventually you can make your dreams come true? mentally confined and limits

I watched a video of a young man who was tried and put in prison for a crime he committed as a minor. Then he was put in solitary confinement for misbehaving in prison. He mentioned in the talk that during his time in confinement, he began pacing, then talking to himself. And whatever he thought, controlled him. This may seem like it's going in a bad direction but surprisingly, he decided to use his time in prison to better himself. Because the other prisoners or guards sure as hell won't make him better. Long story short, he was able to utilize his time in prison by reading and educating himself. He now works towards rehabilitating the youth who are going through the same thing he went through as a kid. His aim and purpose is only guiding the juvenile prisoners forward and towards a better future for them. This video made me think of how much mind has control over us. Surely, you don't have to be confined in small cell to understand that your mind can control your action...
